Who we are
This website (mattrooneydj.co.uk) is operated by Matt Rooney DJ, a wedding and events DJ based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. For any privacy questions, contact mattrooneydj@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us. When you submit an enquiry through the contact form, or start a chat with the planning assistant, this may include your name, email address, phone number, event date, venue and any details you include in your message. Like most websites, our host also records standard technical data such as IP address and browser type in server logs.
How we use your information
We use the details you provide solely to respond to your enquiry, discuss your event, and provide a quote or booking. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Third-party services
To run the website we rely on a small number of trusted providers, each with their own privacy policies: our enquiry form and planning assistant are provided by Gig Nest; if an enquiry can't be delivered, a backup copy may be sent by email via Web3Forms; we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used; the site is hosted on Vercel; and fonts are served by Google Fonts. These providers process limited data on our behalf in order to deliver their part of the service.
Analytics only runs if you accept the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time: .
Cookies
We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to collect anonymous, aggregated information about how visitors use the site (such as pages viewed and approximate location) so we can improve it. This data isn't used to personally identify you. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. Some other third-party tools above may also set limited functional cookies necessary for them to work.
Information kept on your device
Some features save information in your browser’s local storage so the site is more useful when you come back — the plan you build with the night planner, a draft of an enquiry you haven’t sent yet, your cookie choice, and whether you’ve dismissed a seasonal notice. This stays on your device, is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep enquiry details only for as long as needed to respond to you and, where relevant, to manage your booking. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these rights, email mattrooneydj@gmail.com. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
